I’m a qualified counsellor working in the Gestalt tradition, recently awarded my Professional Diploma in Counselling from The Albany Centre. I’m drawn to Gestalt because it recognises that we are shaped not only by our inner world but also by our relationships, environments and the patterns we’ve learned to survive. My approach is relational, present‑centred and focused on building awareness, connection and genuine change.
My path into therapy has been shaped by varied experience. I began my working life as a secretary, later studied History, and then spent thirteen years in frontline public service as a police officer. That background gives me a deep understanding of pressure, responsibility, trauma exposure and the emotional armour people often have to carry. It’s part of why I’m particularly interested in supporting first responders, emergency services personnel and those in the armed forces. You don’t need to minimise what you’ve been through or explain the culture — I understand the realities of those roles.
I work with adults experiencing anxiety, life transitions, relationship difficulties, bereavement, trauma and cumulative stress. Alongside my private practice, I volunteer with Cruse Bereavement Support, offering space to those navigating grief. I am also beginning CPCAB Level 5 Psychotherapeutic Counselling to deepen and extend my clinical work.
Therapy sessions last 50 minutes. My fee is £60 for in‑person work and £50 for online sessions, with a small number of concessionary places available. If you’re considering therapy and would like to get a sense of whether we might work well together, you’re welcome to contact me by email. I offer a free 20‑minute introductory call so you can ask questions and get a feel for how I work.
