I am a counsellor specialising in Gestalt therapy. I hold a Professional diploma in Counselling which I obtained from The Albany Centre. In addition, I hold a BA in English and Cultural Studies. I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy and I follow their ethical framework.
I understand that coming to counselling can be daunting. I offer a space where you are free to explore your issues, where you don’t have to pretend to be anything or worry about being judged. Whether you are struggling with feelings of anxiety and depression or have suffered a loss of some kind or one of the many other things that bring people to counselling, I will support you in working through the issues.
As a Gestalt therapist, I work holistically. I believe that body and mind are connected and that our bodily responses can help us to understand our emotions more.
I have an interest in working with adolescents. I work with people from the age of 13 up to adult. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked in secondary schools, giving me an understanding of the demands that young people can face in today’s society. I supported young people with special educational needs such as autism, ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. I also supported vulnerable students with their academic learning and their social and emotional well-being. As a therapist, I have helped adolescents suffering from issues that include anxiety, lack of motivation/direction and self-harm.
I also work with adults and have helped people with issues such as: depression, relationship issues, lack of self-esteem and more.
I offer daytime and evening sessions. My fee is £45 per session. I offer concessions. Feel free to contact me for a brief consultation if you are interested in booking an initial session.
