Clear communication is where it’s at
Communication is a vital part of everyday life more than ever before – the written word has changed beyond measure in recent years with the advent of ‘internet’ language, new ‘portmanteau’ words and emoji lingo. However, the spoken word is still king and, due to the greater use of phones, conference calls and remote working, there is greater awareness these days that being clear in your speech takes you a long way.
Whether it’s for business meetings, wedding speeches or your own personal development, please get in touch to improve your confidence for speaking and presentations. Individual sessions and workshops are tailored to you/your group.

Stammering
Most of us can say that we’ve stammered (or stuttered – same thing) at some point – we all experience moments where we are less fluent and can’t ‘get our tongue round our teeth’ as the saying goes. It’s hardly noticeable and we move on swiftly with no-one noticing.
For some people these disruptions to fluent speech are far more frequent, obvious and severe. Many people who still regard themselves as stammerers are successful with public speaking of some kind – Joe Biden, Michael Palin, Samuel L. Jackson to name a few. Some people I have worked with have found their stammer to be completely debilitating, often using different words or avoiding a particular situation to evade the stammer, or even choosing a different career which involves speaking as little as possible.
If you come for sessions with such a concern, we can investigate all parameters of your communication and look at where it is in your vocal production that you feel your speech blocks or breaks down and start the process of rebuilding your speech and confidence.
Sessions are held via Zoom or in-person at The Albany Centre, St Albans.
