As a Mental Health Practitioner and Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist, I have many years of experience working with a variety of psychological conditions in different clinical settings (in hospitals, clinics and GP surgeries). As well as common psychological difficulties such as depression and anxiety, I have experience working with more complex presentations.
As a CBT therapist, I have regular experience of helping people with a wide variety of difficulties including:
Depression, Social Anxiety, OCD, Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Health Anxiety, Phobias, Low self-esteem, personality difficulties and others.
My approach is very much to listen to what your needs are and what you want to work on. Although I will convey my understanding, I will always put your needs and interests first. You are the expert of you, and I will always listen to you and work with you on overcoming your difficulties in a non-judgemental and critical manner, offering support along the way.
I have worked with adults and young people of all ages and am described as a caring and easy going person and have a natural way of putting people at ease who may be feeling anxious or struggling with difficult emotions.
In keeping with modern forms of communication, I have experience in delivering therapy online via video conference calls, over the telephone as well as face to face so please let me know what you would prefer.
