Having been employed as a Clinical Psychologist for over 20 years in the NHS I have gained considerable experience of providing clinical services to diverse populations presenting with a wide range of social, emotional and behavioural problems. For the last 15 years I have been employed as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist in CAMHS where I have developed a particular interest in helping people to resolve relationship difficulties. This included working with children, young people, parents, couples and families, helping them to develop, restore or strengthen connections with those who are important in their lives.
I currently divide my time between providing education, training and clinical supervision, and working clinically in the NHS and in private practice. My approach to consultation and supervision is to help individuals and groups consider the wider context in understanding the presenting problem, to examine the interplay of personal and professional issues, and to reflect on the role of the therapist’s family of origin in his/her clinical and supervisory practice.
I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the British Psychological Society (BPS).
